Getting Started

After you receive your welcome email (and have made a copy of this important document!) you will be able to login to Cpanel, the control panel you will use to manage your account. Becoming familiar with how to find the information you need is an important step toward using your Cpanel effectively.

The first things anyone should do when logging into their accout are as follows:

  • "Getting Started Wizard" which is located near the top of your Cpanel.
  • Read the documentaion located at the Help link near the top of your panel, nearly every question can be answered there!
  • Make sure to watch the video tutorials also located near the top of your Cpanel

Also included in your welcome email is the link to login to your Site Creation Tool - Site Studio, this is seperate from your Cpanel. This is where you will create your site and publish it to the web, this is also where you will make changes or edit your site.

Once you login to your Site Studio you will also need to familiarize yourself with it's interface. You many click on the ? in the upper right of the Site Studio panel to read documentation related to every function of the Site Studio. Hopefully you became somewhat familiar with the Site Studio from our online demo. In anycase you will soon be creating your website. Have fun! Once you are satisfied with your site you simply click the publish link in the upper left portion of the Site Studio, and your site is "live' online. Don't worry, it's easy to make changes or correct mistakes, simply login to your Site Studio, click on the edit tab and make the changes needed. When you are finished editing, simply click on publich again and your "live" site is instantly updated! It's really that easy.

In my domain name control panel I see places to input the www and @ address - should I put your server address there?

No - the www and @ settings only forward your domain. Instead, you want to find the option to use your own nameservers and type in the names of your nameservers as given to you in your welcome email. Then in 2-48 hours your domain should work properly.

Where do I find my Cpanel (control panel)?

Your control panel is at www.yourdomain.com/cpanel (use your actual domain). This will only work once your domain name is pointed to the servers and has resolved. Before that, you can use the server-specific address listed in your welcome email.
